Shel Ladakh
Newly built house following traditional architecture, by the Indus River, very near Thiksey monastery, 15 km from Leh. The house comes with staff that cooks all meals. We stayed there in June 2024 and it was a memorable experience. The level of service and care is something I’ve hardly experienced anywhere else. Food is beyond delicious and it was the perfect place to rest after 3 tough days in Zanskar.

Nimmu House
Traditional ladakhi house built 100 years ago by a nobelman, opened as a hotel in 2014. Heritage architecture. 35 km from Leh. We also stayed there and it was my favourite hotel in Ladakh. The managers, Indrani and Vikram, are wonderful. The house is very beautiful and comfortable, food is great and you just feel at home at Nimmu.

We Are Kal
We visited Angktak and Catherine’s textile project We Are Kal. They source wool from the nomadic community where Angktak was born to make products such as carpets. We also had the opportunity to go visit the nomadic community and learn about their lifestyle. It was one of the highlights of our trip. You can also rent the guestroom in their home & studio, which is very beautiful and it’s where they make most of their products. I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful experience.

Tar Village
One of our favourite experiences during our trip to Ladakh.
Tar is a remote village that has been experiencing economic hardship due to a lack of job opportunities and insufficient access to education. The majority of its inhabitants are subsistence farmers who face daily hardships in their quest for a decent livelihood. The village is highly affected by urbanisation.
In response to these pressing concerns, an ambitious project launched with the objective of revitalising the village through the promotion of sustainable tourism.
