Just Married | Namibia & Mozambique
Clara & Albert
Together since December 2022 but we’ve known each other for over 10 years
Born in Barcelona and Philadephia
Now living in Barcelona
First kiss after a party, we spent quite a while talking. Clara left… and forgot her phone. When Albert went back to get it, he brought it to the door, and from there, until today.
First trip together Paris in February 2022. We stayed at Cour des Vosges, a hotel we really love.

Honeymoon in Namibia & Mozambique
the trip
Why Namibia & Mozambique?
We wanted a destination neither of us had been to before. Namibia attracted us because it offers a unique combination of desert, savannah, and diverse landscapes, making it a great place to begin exploring Africa. We wanted to finish with a destination by the sea, and Mozambique seemed perfect.
Who planned it?
We did it with Ariadna from Mundo Expedición. Albert knew her from a previous trip and didn’t hesitate to ask her again. She made everything really easy for us, and we felt very relaxed the whole time.
Itinerary
Windhoek, Namibia — 4 nights
We landed in Windhoek and spent 4 days at Our Habitas, a place deeply connected with nature and wildlife. We went on safaris and were lucky enough to see many animals in their natural habitat.
Sossusvlei, Namibia — 4 nights
We drove about 5 hours to Sossusvlei, a trip that was really fun to do on our own.
In Sossusvlei, we stayed at &Beyond Desert Lodge. The service was unbeatable and the location incredible. The night sky was spectacular, and the hotel had an observatory with an astronomer. We really enjoyed learning a bit more about it.
We visited Namibia’s most impressive dunes, with reddish colors and towering heights. It was a landscape that left us truly impressed and was a stark contrast to the rest of the trip.
Windhoek, Namibia — 1 night
We drove back to Windhoek and spent the last night at Zannier Omaanda.
Nhamabue Peninsula, Mozambique — 4 nights
The next day, we flew to Mozambique, where we spent four more days at Sussurro.
It was the perfect place to slow down, surrounded by nature, the ocean, and an overwhelming sense of calm. We fondly remember the day we spent on Bartholomeu Dias Island, just the two of us on a tiny islet, enjoying an ideal picnic in total solitude.

Most ‘honeymooner’ thing you did Watching the sunset during a dhow trip, a traditional Mozambican boat, in the Bazaruto Archipelago
What made your honeymoon different than your past trips? The pace of the trip was very different, plus everything it meant after so many months spent preparing the wedding. Being away from the city really helped slow down our pace and calm our minds
Wish you’d had time for Since most of the places we stayed were quite remote, it was harder to connect with local life. We love getting a sense of how people live day to day, but this time it wasn’t so easy. It's something we missed and would love to do more of on future trips
What did you learn about each other? We were honestly surprised at how comfortable we felt in such a different environment
Favourite past trips
Seoul was a really special trip for us since we got engaged there. We were genuinely moved by the energy of the place. The contrast between tradition and modernity, the food, the people, the subtle beauty in everyday details.
We stayed at the Banyan Tree, a quiet oasis right in the heart of the city. The views from our room stretched across the skyline, and yet, somehow, it felt peaceful.
New York is also special to us, we try to go at least once a year. It’s one of those places that keeps pulling us back, no matter how many times we’ve been.
On one of those trips, we felt the need to slow down and disconnect for a while. So we rented a car and headed upstate, into the Catskills.
The change of pace was immediate. We split our time between two beautiful places:
Piaule, a minimalist retreat tucked deep in the forest, offered a sense of stillness that was almost meditative—quiet, design-forward, and deeply restorative.
Inness, surrounded by open fields and gentle hills, had a warm, timeless charm that made us feel at home the moment we arrived.
Both stays gave us something different, yet complementary making us fall in love with New York in a completely different way.
Travel Wish List
We’d love to wrap up the year with a trip to Rio de Janeiro.
